The Rutledge Games (Continued):

There's time for one last event! It's the highlight of our boys' year! It's the annual.................

                PEANUT SCRAMBLE!

Something tells me that they just dumped a bunch down the slide.

After our pristine playground wood chips have been permanently defiled by peanuts and peanut shells, it's time to cool off after a long day.  We had our New England visitors in town last year and we kept promising them relief from the scorching heat of early July 2002.  Unfortunately the severe drought conditions of that summer precluded the mighty Rutledge Fire Department from opening up the hydrant on the corner of Waverly Terrace and Rutledge Avenue and laying out the hoses...............BUT THIS YEAR THEY DID!

WHEEEEEEEEE!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 2003!

Gabe, Brad, & Chelsey Sokoloff DRENCHED

After adjourning for a trip to the Aquatic Swim Club and an emergency Barbeque, Brad and I snuck over to Clifton Heights for his first real fireworks presentation.  We ended up standing right near to where they were setting them off so we hid behind a large (gasoline laden) SUV out on the recreation field.  WOW! THESE FIREWORKS ARE GREAT!
