HI! Brad would like to welcome you personally to his page. It's a windows .WAV file, cute and little!

Some Pertinent Biographical Information:

BIRTHDATE:
August 18, 1995

Brad was born August 18, 1995 at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, located in Center City Philadelphia. His parents chose this hospital for his entrance into the world because this is where the Phillies all go when they need really major medical stuff done to them. Let's say one of them gets hit on the head by a 92 mile per hour fastball or something. Immediately they will be taken to Methodist Hospital (right up Broad Street) for X-rays. When it comes time to get the actual brain surgery, however, they'll go to Jefferson.

Here's a copy of the birth announcement we sent out, trumpeting Brad's arrival. Brad's Baacka (Grandmother to the uninformed) drew the picture, as she has been doing since Aunt ME was born over 50 years ago. The printer we used tried to take a little liberty with the quotation, changing the A.A. Milne-ish "Now We Are Three..." to the 90's-ish, "and now we're Three." This is the same type person who would change, "These Are The Times That Try Men's Souls" to "Soulwise, These are Trying Times.

FIRST NATIONAL LEAGUE GAME: 9/24/95
Brad's attended his first big league game on September 24, 1995 at Veteran's Stadium in Philadelphia, PA. Dennis Springer started for the Phillies and David Wells pitched for the visiting Cincinatti Reds. Wells had a no-hitter going through 6 innings - the Phils eventually lost 6-4. Brad slept the entire game. His parents took him so that in the year 2070 he can say, "I've been watching this team for 75 years and they still don't have any pitching!"

FIRST AMERICAN LEAGUE GAME: 8/21/96
Brad's first AL game occured on our family vacation to Michigan in August of 1996. We visited Tiger Stadium to watch the Tigers battle the Chicago White Sox. BRAD Ausmus hit a clutch home run in the bottom of the 8th to power the Motor City Kitties to a thrilling come from behind victory over the Pale Hose, 7 - 4. We sat next to Steve Howe's brother.

BRAD MORBECK ADOPTS ENGLISH AS HIS NATIVE TONGUE! A press release from the Morbeck News . The following graphic should make sense if you read the press release. Then again, it might not.

Brad's maternal grandparents gave him a nice little "Touch and Say" activity center which hangs inside his crib, furnishing hours of good wholesome entertainment. Every time you press a button a different little tune is played, while a cow jumping over the moon lights up in the central mirror. Many a morning Brad's Mommy and Daddy have woken up to this haunting little melody which we call

Brad's Song . Go ahead. You'll become mesmerized by it too!

A STIRRING TRIBUTE TO THE PENNSYLVANIA LOTTERY!
Brad's favorite television program is only a minute long. It arrives in our home almost every night sandwiched between "World News Tonight" and "Jeopardy!". That's right, it's the Pennsylvania Lottery ! If you would like to hear the beginning of the song which sends the Noodleboy into a nightly frenzy lay that old pointer device right HERE . While you're waiting for this to download you may want to entertain yourself by shouting , "SHOW, SHOW, SHOW!" over and over again.
This compelling interest in lottery numbers proves that Brad is a true Philadelphian. We Morbecks never had more than passing interest in "The Number" until moving to the "City of Brotherly Love." We were shocked to meet legions of reasonably intelligent people who could wax poetic about "threes" and their tendency to come up on Thursdays.

BRAD'S TIGERS' DEN

Brad's favorite American League team is the Detroit Tigers. We all went on a pilgrimage to baseball heaven last summer on our Michigan vacation, visiting Tiger Stadium to see the Tigers play the White Sox. Here's what it looked like from our seats, right behind the White Sox Bullpen down the right field line.

Later Brad and father posed for the obligatory picture next to the "A Genius in Spikes" plaque honoring the Greatest Tiger of All - Ty Cobb.

We'll finish our visit to "Brad's Tigers' Den" with a few web links to enhance your enjoyment of the beauty and the majesty of the greatest two words in the English Language... "TIGER BASEBALL."

CHRISTMAS 1996- Brad partakes in the ancient Scandihoovian ritual of eating Lutefisk on Christmas Eve. He might be on to something, trying to eat it frozen. We cooked it and even the feral alley cats outside wouldn't eat it when we left it on the back porch.

Everybody in our family is issued a cat as standard equipment when joining the team. Daddy's cat is Mrs. Kitty (the former Mrs. Krukker), Mommy's is Mingamo (named after Aunt Bix's imaginary friend as a child), and Brad's cat is named HOUDINI , because he disappears so readily.

AND FINALLY...
IT'S TIME FOR BRAD TO HIT THE TRAIL. THANKS FOR VISITING!
