WAVES

I was going to try to put them on the page but the wiser and cooler head of Julia Hayden talked me out of it (Copyrights, all that legal rigamarole).

ABOUT THIS PAGE:

..........The bulk of the text on this page is taken directly from my mother's "Journey Book", a sometimes factual account written mostly in the back seat of a speeding cream colored Ford "Custom" sedan in July 1966. . I've tried to keep the pictures on the smallish side. If you wish to view a full size photo of you or your various loved ones, feel free to email me and I'll send you a copy of the requested picture in all of it's glory. .

Notice how my feet are cut off. My entire family possesses a chronic inability to effectively capture photographic subjects' lower appendages.

And finally, let's meet.............

ARTHUR GODFREY?

"What's he doing here?", You may ask. Mr Godfrey (Star of Stage, Screen, and Television, to use a 60's type term) was the owner/ principle investor/ something-or-other of "SunGlow". True musical historians will recognize the fingers of clarinet great Benny Goodman (located on the left of your screen.) While I was searching for any image I could use of Artie for this page the reference librarian at our local library related to me his personal connection with the great man. It seems that his father was an M.P. during the war, guarding the gates to the old Brooklyn Navy Yard. Mr. Godfrey tried to drunkenly storm the gate with two bimbos on his arms. The librarian's father then proceeded to try to punch Mr. Godfrey's lights out (or so the story goes.) Take that, Mr. Show Business!
