......A beautiful day - high waves and double rollers- Rob loved it - took pictures of “Wilber and Orville” flying - Wilbur got away again over to the field across the street and Rob spent quite a time retrieving his string.

.......Sailing in the morning, Kai and Robbo & Wendy, John Bob MacLeod, Cindy & Joce.Bob(RCM), Brian, and Nancy took a motorboat. Kai and Robbo took Sailing lessons. In the afternoon they took Bob and me sailing and it was really nice.

Meanwhile, back on the beach...vollball

After supper - spaghetti made by Ann - a big trip went off to the Carpet Golf - 5
Morbecks, 6 MacLeods, and 3 Shaws. Thrilling competition - and the BIG WINNER was Lolly, with a hole-in-one on #19 for $3.00 worth of merchandise from the Pottery
Shoppe!!! Bri and Rob each got a free game with a h-in-o on #18. Lolly chose a pottery
cat for the roof or to climb a tree.

RM99- Either the book was lost, or my Mother's writing hand cramped up this day. Regardless, whatever happened this sunny Friday will forever be only conjecture. We took some pictures, though........

swingerMeet the Swinger!

RM99- This is like one of those satellite pictures from space, only more grainy. I believe if you look closely at Jocelyn's hand she's holding a Poloroid "Swinger". I can still remember the song.......

"Meet the Swinger,
Poloroid Swinger.
Meet the Swinger,
Poloroid Swinger.
It's more than a camera,
It's almost alive!
It's only nineteen dollars and ninety five!
Swing it Up. It says "Yes"
Take the Shot. Count it down. Zip it Off!

.If you're ever really bored, call me up and I'll sing you the,
"Wouldn't you really rather drive a Buick (A Buick, '66, Buick)" song
. But I digress.

RM99-Hey, what a coincidence! The Wright brothers had the same first names as our Kites! Consider the symbolism people attached to Paul McCartney looking the other way on the "Abbey Road" LP: Should I be worried about my separation from the rest of the group?

Mileage -367 Time 9:02
Later....
Crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel - for $7.40 - Kai driving. Stopped at the only place to park just before the first tunnel. Her 50 miles was up on the bridge but there was no other stopping place and she decided to keep the wheel until lunch! Nothing in “Bird’s Nest”. The Pink trees are Crepe Myrtle. We’ve been trying to think of the name - Kai just looked at a tree and thought of the name.

.......Garbage trucks outside our room woke us up at 6:30 am. Then there was no hot water. We had to remind them of the rollaway promised - It arrived with only sheets, no
blanket or pillow. Only 2 glasses provided.
Obviously unsatisfactory.
RM99-
It's a shame that such a wonderful vacation had to end on such a sour note. Only 2 glasses, indeed!
